Premier League Preview 2012-13

First up are the season openers. Soccer fans have enjoyed a more pack summer schedule than ever before, first with Euro 2012 and then the Olympics, but we all know that nothing really compares to the drama and excitement of the Premier League. One of the best parts of the opening day is the full debut of all the new signings.   

One of the biggest signings of the summer so far has been Shinji Kagawa, now playing for Manchester United after his transfer from Dortmund. The Japanese midfielder lit up the Bundesliga last season and will now attempt to make his mark in England. He’ll line out for Manchester United against Everton on Monday 20th August.

Eden Hazard is Chelsea’s headline signing of the summer, and will slot into the Chelsea midfield with the likes of Frank Lampard and Juan Mata. Chelsea will be hoping that the Belgian youngster can help them to emulate the success of last season under Roberto Mancini and propel them up the table.  

However, our pick of the opening day fixtures is Sunderland’s visit to the Emirates to face Arsenal. Arsene Wenger’s squad will almost definitely be reeling from the departure of last season’s superstar Robin Van Persie. However, new signings Santi Carzola, Olivier Giroud and Lukas Podoloski will attempt to fill the void and end the Gunners’ long wait for a trophy. They’ll line out against Martin O’Neill’s Sunderland on Saturday, August 18th, and we can get you there!
